Soap Fun

Charlie loves to keep busy in my kitchen - now more than in the past, he is getting into all my drawers and the walk through pantry (that has sliding doors that he knows how to open!)  Our kitchen sink cabinet doesn't have a child friendly lock possibility (that Charlie can't figure out), so I have emptied it of everything except for the dishwasher soap and grocery bags.

Charlie discovered the soap at my parent's house quite a while ago and still loves to play with it.  I used up one container, so now he has two to play with.  I captured him organizing my soap the other day.  He has so much fun and 99.5% of the time, doesn't stick anything in his mouth

Momma - Are you going to help me with the transfer?

I love this picture!!!!

You want me to smile?  No problem!

This was the .5% I was talking about

Sorry Momma :(

Reading with Grandpa

Charlie LOVES to read - and I think loves is an understatement.  We have tons of books - thanks to Grandma S....Have I mentioned she is a retired school teacher??? :)

We usually read in the morning right after Charlie gets up, before nap and bed time, plus at least a couple more times inbetween.  Grandpa M was the lucky one who got to read with Charlie while I captured the moment.  Yes - Charlie looks a little bored but truth be told, Grandpa isn't the most captivating reader in the family!

They were reading Dr. Suess's, EYE BOOK.  This is one of Charlie's favorites.  When we get to the word, 'clock', Charlie always beats me at saying the word - and he usually breaks out into a big grin.  He points at different pictures and says ruff, ruff, ruff, when we get to the dog.  He'll probably have the book memorized by the time he is two :)

Grandpa - you have to read with gusto!

Seriously Grandpa - I love this book, but you're making me sleepy!

Fun with Daddy!

Someone likes to play when Daddy is around. Charlie was playing with an old exercise cord (which Auntie Pookie said was a little dangerous).....who says danger when they can say fun???  Anyway - these pictures speak for themselves.  Someone loved being pulled around on our hardwood.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Daddy - you are sooooo much fun!

Who can resist this face?

Horsing Around

Grandpa and Grandma S have just finished a 12 day visit with us Sholters and since we didn't see them at Christmas, they came armed with books and toys for Charlie.  One of his favoritetoys is his new horse, Berkeley.  We named him after the first real horse Charlie rode while we were in Colorado.....I thought it was fitting and a little sentimental.  As you can see, Charlie loves riding his horsey and usually rides a couple times a day.

My horsey!!!!

Trust me, I won't fall off!  I've done this before with a much bigger horse!

This is soooo much fun!

Journal Post

This post is totally for my own memory!!  No pictures, just things I don't want to forget!!!  I guess I could record it somewhere else, but this blog has become a type of diary for me.  It has captured our important memories over the past year, so why not take a couple of posts once a while just to write down things I know I'll forget if I don't record it!

Charlie is teething again!!!  He got his first canine tooth???  The first pokey one!!!!  It popped up about a week and a half ago, a few days after his last 12 month shot.  Seriously, what is with Charlie, vaccinations, and teething.  This has happened at least one more time that I can remember.....

Speaking of vaccinations, when Charlie went for his MMR one (I decided to delay it a month after the rest of his 12 month vac....which I also delayed for a few months), Charlie made more of a commotion having to leave his new found toys than he did about his vaccination.  He did get a slight rash from it - almost two weeks after.  Good thing they warned me that this could happen!

Charlie's hair is finally starting to grow in!  We think it looks thick, but we know compared to other children his age, he still has a way to go!!!!

Charlie's vocabulary is growing everyday.  He says: Moo for cow, Ruff for dog, cockodoodoo for rooster, quack for duck, and meow for cat.  I'm working on Baa for sheep - but that one is tougher.

He is saying "more", but not more please ;)  He has added car to his truck.  He recognizes and says Pea's - the food and nana for banana.....  He tries to say potato for Mr. Potato head, but isn't quite there yet.  He can say brush for brush your teeth and go go go when he wants to go downstairs.  He said rock this morning and lock ( in a different context).

He points to lots of things - orange, pasta, peach, ice cream cone, teddy bear, couch, kitten, horse, dog, duck, boots, ball, tomato.  This is just the start...I could go on and on...

Charlie - we love you so much!  Keep on talking and surprising Mom and dad with your new words!

Oh - and how could I forget - you finally say MOMMA!!!!!!

Bail or Bale?????

Ok - so I had a major typo :)  HAHAHAHA!  I knew Bail didn't look right, but I couldn't figure out what it should be.....Momma brain.  I even googled it and it still came up bail.  So much for google!

Speaking of google, Doug said that word the other day and Charlie said it clear as day, GOOGLE.  He has also been saying, yup and nope all the time.   Lets see - clock is still one of his favorite words.  He says cook, truck, tractor, ball, pool, ruff, ruff.  He is now saying pweeze when he wants something - I often have to remind him to not screech, but say please instead.  Sometimes now, if I look at him instead of saying something, he'll quiet down and say pweeze.  LOVE!

The other day I was repeating what he was saying to me...bubba.  So we would go back and forth, bubba, bubba, bubba.  Then I put in Momma, and he said Momma.  Then I tried it again and he refused :)  He will not say Mom, Momma, or Mommy.  He is totally doing it on purpose.  That's why we call him stinker!!!!

It seems like he is saying a new word every day, but as usual, I can't think of any more!

Bale Fun!!!!!!!

Photo fun on a bale of hay!  I took these quite a while ago, but never posted them.  Since I am short on pictures, I thought I would post!!!!  Don't worry, Doug was standing right beside Charlie, but just out of range....until the last shot!

A little bit of fun for 2012

We were having fun with my Dad's new ipad - Doug and I had convinced him to take back his tablet and buy the best....However, he isn't quite convinced yet.

Anyway - we were using photo booth and took pictures of the whole family.  BUT - you only get to see Charlie.....Cause he is cute and we did not look cute :)

NO CAPTIONS NEEDED!!! :)
