Today Moe turned one month old. The month has flown by, but it also seems like he has been in our lives for so much longer :). We are still adjusting to having a new little guy in the house. Charlie has adjusted to his little brother and Moe just keeps eating, sleeping and pooping!
He is starting to get into a little bit of a routine - he now does 3.5 to 4 hour stretches at night, and definitely has a morning nap, two afternoon ones, and an evening. He seems to be awake with his brother for meal times, and then asleep with him in the afternoon as well. Which is lovely for me - but again, pre-nap routines sometimes are still a little difficult if both are awake.
I wanted to download some pictures, but apparently I have exceeded my download limit and now I'm waiting to see what I can do about it. I don't really feel like paying for this blog so my friends and family can see pictures, so we'll see! Doug says, big deal about paying :)
Funny story. We tackled Walmart today - and Charlie said the funniest thing! We were walking by the electronics section, Charlie saw the Mac symbol and said, "There's an apple. Someone took a bite out of it!". Hahaha - I asked him again what he said, just to make sure I wasn't hearing things. Sooooo funny! Then we saw a t-shirt with Cat in the Hat on it, and he said, "The Cat in the Hat is wearing a blue hat".....the shirt was blue :). I would have bought it for him, but the pants it came with were ugly - so I didn't bother!
I have cute pictures I want to show you, but I guess they will have to wait. Happy one month birthday Moe! We love you so much!

Faces of Moe
He has a few! I still remember Charlie's face when he was waking up. Moe's isn't quite as predictable, but he has given us some good faces. I love his 'gas smiles' - so precious! Can you tell I love my Moe?

This and that....
Things have been a little scattered around our house the past few days. Charlie came down with a bug (not sure where he got it), and for the first time in just over two years, was sick. Thank goodness he was sick on Sunday, so Daddy was home to help and basically look after Charlie. We were each responsible for one child! Having a sick child is one of those things I have dreaded as a parent...and Doug would say I have a few things to learn!
Because of his sickness, Charlie has been watching a lot of Cat in the Hat and Caillou. These are his favorite tv shows, although Barney and VeggieTales still make his list. I feel kind of bad that I have been allowing so much tv time, but between a new baby and a sick 2 year old, I figure a few days of tv aren't going to hurt us!
Speaking of Moe, he has been a little cranky these past few days. So much so that I pulled out the soothers. And you wouldn't believe what happened - he took it and sucked away happily (with a little help and encouragement of course). Charlie never took a soother, but we probably waited too long to give one to him. I'm not the biggest fan of soothers - but when Moe is crying and can't be consoled, and Charlie is telling me to hold Moe so that he will stop crying, a soother it is!
A few updates on Charlie. He is now distinguishing between most colours. For the longest time we heard that everything was either blue or green. Now he is telling us blue, green, pink, and a few more. As well, he has been saying some funny things lately. His latest is, "I think that is a GREAT idea". I say this all the time, so he did get it from me - but he says it with a lot more enthusiasm than I do! He'll also say the opposite, "I don't think that is a good idea." Hahahaha!
Charlie is in love with tractors, diggers, and any other construction vehicle. He has been seeing diggers, lifters, and tractors at the hotel. He LOVES to go and see what he can see! During some walks, we have gone by a construction site and seen a crane and cement truck. So we watch them work - good entertainment!
There's my update! There is never a dull moment, but being a mom to two is going fairly smoothly! They have both been napping at the same time (for at least an hour), so that helps immensely. I even managed to get some book work done yesterday. Who would have thought! And despite my lack of sleep, I still manage well during the day. It is amazing how well a body can adjust and rise to the challenge of the needs of a newborn.

Failed Photo Idea
Ok - Here are a few pictures from our photo shoot that didn't work out so well! We even tried it twice, but both times Moe wasn't wanting to sit in his brother's tonka dump truck :) I saw this on pinterest - the baby was sleeping and looked happy, but that was not the case for us! Oh well - it made for a good story!

More photo's
Here are some more pictures of our precious baby boy. At two weeks old, I am already noticing that he is gaining weight and is much more sturdy than before. I have definitely taken my time to enjoy this precious time when he is so little, I think because Charlie grew so fast. Before I even realized it, Charlie had grown and put on lots of weight! I'm expecting the same thing to happen with Moe, so I'm taking it one day at a time.

Photo Shoot!
We had a two week photo shoot last weekend - here are some of the photo's we took. I read that it is best to take newborn pictures within the first two weeks, so I had to get organized before the time flew by. Over the past few months, I have pinned ideas that I liked, but let me say again, its harder than you think copying picture ideas.
Moe continues to be such a good baby - we didn't have any problems distinguishing between night and day, and Charlie continues to adjust to his baby brother. It is pretty precious watching Charlie give Moe kisses and talk about him.
Well - here are some pictures! More to come later.

Snow!
We have had two fairly decent snow falls in the past month....so much so that Charlie has made more use out of his snow suit so far this year, than he did all of last year :) These pictures were taken before Moe was born, but Mommy and Charlie did venture out in the snow while Moe was sleeping last week!
As well, Charlie did get to go trick or treating with a friend on Halloween. It was COLD, so he was a bundled up fireman. Unfortunately, I only got one picture and it wasn't even very good. But - I will post so I have the memory. Doug went out with Charlie, my sister handed out candy, and I got to look after Moe. It was lovely!

Holding Moe
Within a week of Moe coming home, we asked Charlie if he wanted to hold Moe. I was a little surprised when Charlie excitedly said yes. He was soooo excited! He stuck out his arms and waited while Dad put his baby brother in his lap. He held Moe for probably a minute and then said he was all done.
That was our breakthrough! Charlie has held him one other time - but we don't make an issue of Moe with Charlie.....Life is different enough already without making his brother a big issue!!!!

Go Riders!
Even though the Riders lost the game on Sunday, we still had some pretty happy fans in our house. Doug went to the game with his Dad and brother, but before he left us at home, we took some pictures.
Doug and I have noticed that Charlie has been more willing to get his picture taken and will even smile :) I think it has to do something with his little brother! Anyway - I love it! We did have to bribe him to get up with Dad and his brother, but a little candy does wonders for this boy!
Speaking of candy, Auntie Pookie was giving Charlie a treat after dinner and she asked him if he was eating Smarties. He replied, no, its MnM's! Hahahaha - can you tell who has been eating Halloween candy?

Life as a family of 4
I still can't believe it when I hear it.....we are a family of 4!!! Our sweet and tiny little Moe has settled down quite nicely into our home. We had lots of help last week and have more this week, but I have been alone with my two boys a little bit - this past Monday being the first full day as a mommy on my own.
I have to give some background before I tell the story! Charlie did not like Moe's crying during our first few days at home. We had two kids crying and it wasn't very fun :( But since then, Charlie has gotten much better with being a big brother. He held Moe this weekend and has started to give more kisses and even tickled his feet today. BUT - the story below is before Charlie really started to get better around his baby brother :)
I was flying solo on Friday night with the dinner and bedtime routine. Moe slept right through dinner (which he has been doing), but unfortunately, woke during Charlie's bath time. Needless to say, we cut bath time short :). We proceeded to Charlie's room where I quickly put on his diaper and pj's, before settling down to feed Moe and read to Charlie.
Charlie was a bit skeptical - Moe's feet kept on touching him while he sat beside me - so there was a lot of moving and shifting going on! But we made it through the books and even our singing time (which just isn't the same when Charlie had to sit beside me!). Charlie even got into bed fairly well and Moe and I left him in his room to fall asleep.
Well - 2 minutes later, Charlie was crying hard (which he very rarely does), and Moe had settled, so upstairs I went to console Charlie. He was asking for one more song, so I obliged. However, halfway through the song, Moe started to cry and by the end of the song, was crying quite hard. I knew Charlie wouldn't want to go to bed hearing his brother cry and sure enough, when I said "good night", Charlie started crying again :(. So I did something I have never done before. I asked Charlie if he wanted to watch Cat in the Hat - and sure enough, he did! So downstairs we came to watch a little tv while I gave Moe some more food ;) After that Moe settled quite well and Charlie went to bed, but what a gong show.
And yes, from the picture below you will see that Moe has A LOT more hair than Charlie did. Doug and I were shocked to hear that he had lots of hair and that it was long.....compared to Charlie at least. But I love his hair so much!!!!

Introducing.....
We would like to welcome our precious baby boy into this world. Moe - as he will be referred to (due to his cute mohawk!) - arrived a week early on Sunday and weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce. He has settled into our home really well and is already gaining weight. He was 7 pounds, 4 ounces at the Doctor's office today. I realize that this precious little body is soon going to be packing on the pounds!
So, here are the pictures!!!!

Family Photoshoot
I'm still here :) As I said a few blogs ago, I photographed some family friends just a few short weeks ago. We had a great time - the weather mostly cooperated and even though we don't get the great fall colours like the East, we took advantage of the fall look.
Hope you like them! Maybe I'll turn this into a business soon???? :)
Oh and isn't the family AWESOME! Hopefully Charlie will like to get his pictures taken soon!!!! :)
