10 months old!!

Me again!!!  I have hit double digits - or at least that's what Momma says!!  She also says that I'm growing much too fast :)

Soooo - this past month was soooo fun!!!  I spent 10 days in Ottawa with some of Mommy and Daddy's friends and I also made a couple of my own while I was there.  We were sooo spoiled by our hosts (I got to play with their little man - we were buddies!).  I even slept through most of the nights while we were there - which is pretty good considering I had to sleep in my playpen in the bathroom!  I guess Momma and Daddy didn't want me sleeping in the same room as them......  We also visited lots of Mommy and Daddy's friends during the evenings - and I guess I was a charmer :)  I was so good that we were able to stay out until 10pm!  BUT - don't forget people, that 10pm EST is 8pm MST.

Ottawa was great - but that was only a part of the month!  I am now sleeping through the night, however, Mommy and Daddy have to get up earlier because I no longer sleep in!!!  I'm also going to bed without much of a fuss - Momma LOVES this!

Oh - and I am babbling and climbing and cruising along the furniture!  I love being able to look outside of our window and chew on our coffee table (or at least until Momma says "no chewing". I'm even crawling up the stairs!!!  I'm such a big boy now :)

Me with some of my buddies!!!

Swimming!!!

With Daddy!
I LOVE tupperware!

More Tupperware!!!

I love the railing, but Momma doesn't like watching me lean against it!!!!

Where is the time going??

We were out for a walk yesterday with my parents enjoying the nice warm day.  Doug snapped this picture of Charlie as we were waiting for some drinks from our gas station/bus depot close to our house - definitely not a Starbucks :)  We were pretty surprised with how old Charlie looks.  Does anyone agree??

Thanks for the hat Auntie Pookie!!!!

Flights

We just completed our second set of flights - this time to and from Ottawa.  Flying with an "infant" is an adventure and not necessarily one I look forward to, but things went smoothly.

On the three previous flights, I've used advice I've read on other blogs - lots of snacks, toys, and books.  However, the best piece of advice was to bring the car seat with us on the plane!  The seat next to us was empty, so we didn't have to pay for Charlie to use the extra seat - soooo great.   Charlie was tired after missing most of his two naps during the day, so after trying to get him to fall asleep the conventional airplane ways, I put him in the seat, buckled him in and started singing to him.  I stopped too quickly and his fussyness started up again.  So I traded spots with Doug and as usual, Daddy had the touch.  Within 3 minutes, Charlie was sleeping away.

Perfect - now how long is this going to last for??  Hopefully for an hour.....NOPE - it lasted the entire flight and the car ride home!  Doug and I both napped and watched tv just like "the good old days!"  The car seat was definitely the best piece of advice we've received and if we fly again before Charlie turns 2, we'll definitely be hoping and praying for an empty seat beside us!

Toronto!!!

Hi Everyone - I wrote this quite a while ago, but for some reason it didn't post!!!!  Working on more from our recent adventures!

Doug had a work trip to Toronto, so Charlie and I packed a bag as well and joined him for a trip to the big city.  As you know, this was Charlie's first flight, so leading up to the day, I was a little nervous about how he would react, BUT, I decided not to worry too much as there wasn't much I could really do!!!

I did, however, come up with a game plan.  I picked seats in the back of the plane (normally I always get the exit row or the front!), we requested that the seat beside us stay empty (the plane wasn't full), and I brought lots of books, toys, and snacks!  Charlie was tired, but didn't end up sleeping much.  Overall, he did great - and even better on the way home.  He doesn't have a security item like a blanket or toy, but I did bring his blanket on the flight which helped with peek-a-boo, and just a little more warmth when he slept.

I have to say that flying with a child is a lot more work :)  No tv watching or sleeping for me.....even Daddy didn't get to snooze like he normally does on EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT.

We had a great time away - here's a few pictures of our travels!

Momma - where are we going??

To Toronto to visit friends while Daddy works?  I'm excited!!!!
