Trip to the farm

The boys and I made a day trip to the farm for some important business - part of it was getting Charlie and Moe on a combine this year!!! It was a quick trip as it is a four hour round trip, and I had to be back in town by 6:00.....  We had a good four hours there and Charlie made the most of it riding in the combine with Grandpa and helping out a bit.  It was a beautiful day, so I had to capture a few pictures of them in the crops before they are gone.  Not sure if we'll make it back down to the farm in time and of course, I didn't want to miss out on this memory!!! 

Poor Moe missed out on the combine experience :(.  I didn't send him out to start with as I didn't think he would last very long, so when I did drive him out to the field, he fell asleep in the vehicle....and didn't wake up until Charlie got out of the combine!!!  Thankfully Moe didn't notice and we carried on :).

3rd Day of Preschool

We took our first day of preschool pictures on the 3rd day - it was warm, sunny, and Doug was home to help get the kids down for a few quick pictures!  You may notice one thing - we did hair cuts over the weekend.  Charlie's hair was so long - it had grown for probably 3 or 4 months with only a trim around the bottom, and as much as people said they liked it, I can't help but like the clean, short look.  No fussing in the morning and with a boy that doesn't like to get his hair styled, it is a perfect hair cut :).  Moe and Daddy got hair cuts too, and then we ordered in pizza with the money we saved.  Win, win.

But the biggest win of all was our tear-free hair cutting experience.  Charlie was up first, setting a perfect example for Moe.  Moe came second, and even though he had never had a buzz cut before, he sat perfectly still without any hesitation.......eating his skittles and smoothie :).  Dad followed the boys and sat perfectly still too - but he didn't get any skittles!!!

Snow Day!

Sept 8, 2014 will be in our minds for a while.....Charlie's first day of preschool and a snowstorm!!  So.....we didn't get the first day of preschool picture - but keep watching because tomorrow is another day of school!!!  But I did take a few pictures of the snow falling and the fun we had this morning playing in it!!!!  I got a little bit of exercise this morning pushing our mounds of snow for our fort.  It was originally a snowman, but it got pushed over by a certain boy, so we improvised a bit!!!
