Belated 11 month birthday

Momma told me she was too busy to post, so my 11 month birthday passed without an update.... Momma - this isn't acceptable!!!!  We had a busy month here with lots of firsts!  You wouldn't believe how fast I'm growing up!!!

I give hugs now and can clap my hands!!!  I play peek-a-boo with my towel and I imitate sounds that my mom and dad make.  They think I say 'breakfast' and 'please' - they might be right.  And yes, I love breakfast, so Momma isn't suprised if it is my first word!!!!!  

I love to point at things I know!  I point at my tower of blocks, my balloon that's been hanging above me for almost a month.  I also know where the fridge is and my phone.  When Momma asks me where Daddy is, I point to his picture on the wall!  And I also know where my clock is above my change table.  Momma keeps giving me new things to learn now that she knows how smart I am!

I am also crawling and cruising around all the furniture.  I do stand a little bit without any help, but I love to crawl.  I can go up and down the stairs all by myself, but Momma is always behind me making sure I don't go too fast!

I've also been a very good sleeper.  I go to bed around 7pm and sleep until 7:00am-8:00am - I think Momma and Daddy LOVE this!!!!  Oh, and you may know this already, but I really like my bottle.  Momma gives it to me a couple times a day and I almost always want more than she gives me......

Oh - and I LOVE food!!!  Most people are surprised with how much I eat, but I just can't get enough!!!  I especially love fruit....Momma always seems to leave that to the end of the meal - I wonder why?

Playing around

We are currently in the process of finishing our yard - which started out badly, but hopefully everything will go smoothly from here on!!!!  So - what have Charlie and I been doing while we wait for a yard to play in????  If you guessed playing peek-a-boo in the curtains and opening cupboards and drawers, and emptying them all, you guessed right!!!!!

So - Charlie's room isn't completely finished, but here are a few pics!!!!  Grandma S supplies the books - she is awesome at finding sales and giving Charlie a library :)

Notice the teething rails and fabric wrapped around the top :)  Oh and the blanket over the crib doesn't move....Charlie won't go for toys in his crib and he doesn't touch the blankets either!!!!

Here are a couple more pictures of Charlie hanging out around the house.  Why the house, do you ask???  Because we have weeds for grass!!!  Hopefully we'll get some landscaping done by the end of the summer....good thing Charlie isn't older or he would be really bored!!!!

Daddy's 30th birthday

Yup - Doug turned the big 3-0 last month and we celebrated with a family get together :)  Here's a few pics from the night.

New things everyday!!!

Charlie is currently developing like crazy!!!!  In the span of just over a week, he now waves bye-bye, shows us how big he is (hands over his head), and can give five.

Just today, he started clapping.....yesterday he wouldn't even try but would always smile for us when we would clap.  Now today - seemingly out of the blue, he starts clapping......CRAZY!

He also had his first successful bottle feed tonight.  Momma is no longer nursing him, so he had to catch onto the bottle.  I am a little worried that he won't get enough to drink out of the sippy cups, so I have re-introduced the bottle despite unsuccessful attempts in the past :).  It worked great - I used a little trick another Mom-friend used on her baby and yup - worked like a charm :)

Speaking of other milestones, Charlie is now pushing our dining room chairs all around the hardwood.....so maybe he'll be walking soon???  I am looking forward to the walking stage so then he can walk around wherever we are and I don't have to stop him from crawling in yucky public places :)
